Asian-American literature

Definition 
The increased immigration of people from all sections of Asia has resulted in a redefinition of this term. As originally conceived (and reflected in the well-known 1974 collection Aiiieeeee: An Anthology of Asian American Writers), the term referred only to Chinese, Japanese and Filipino Americans. Since then it has been broadened to include Korean, Indian, Pakistani Americans as well as authors from other areas of Southeast Asia.
